Tell us a little more about this organization. Please include detailed ways in which this organization makes strides to make a positive impact in their community and what future goals are for this organization.

YRCCS works collaboratively with social service partners to increase the safety of individuals experiencing violence. YRCCS connects individuals to needed supports and creates seamless transition to needed services. At YRCCS, survivors access culturally responsive services and are not burdened with having to retell their abuse to multiple agencies in order to access services. YRCCS fosters the appropriate environment so that service providers build relationships and networks that lead to trust and enhance coordinated services. In the last year, 5oo individuals in the community were helped and over 1200 resources were connected. Helping individuals make those connections, particularly in a time of crisis, strengthens our community rather than navigating a system alone. Future goals are outlined in the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan are: to enhance YRCCS' services, address sustainability, strengthen and diversify partnerships and raise YRCCS' profile in the community.

If selected as a winner, how will the $7,500 prize money be applied?

If awarded, the prize money will be applied to our 2022-2023 implementation strategy to enhance YRCCS' services. This includes increasing the number of programs hosted at YRCCS. Building flexible scheduling beyond the current hours of operation for client connections, and exploring alternative service delivery that mitigates financial constraints and geographical challenges such as use of technology to create a virtual front door to services.
